When I began university I had little idea what I would end up majoring in like many students in their first year. After taking an introductory microeconomics class at Carleton University I realized economics could be a good fit for me. I changed my major to Economics upon arrival to Acadia and I never regretted the decision.

One of the things I liked right away about the Economics department at Acadia was the closeness within the department and the approachability of the professors and staff. At big universities you might feel like a number within your department but at Acadia in the Economics department all your professors will know you by name and take an interest in your progress.

The economics department at Acadia also has a wide variety of courses that taught me how economics principles can be applied to so many things from the environment to tourism to sports. This is one of the most valuable things I learned in the economics department at Acadia.

I believe that no matter where my education and career take me now that I have graduated the experience and skills I have gained in the department will help me succeed in all my endeavors. If you are interested in economics and you like the idea of a small close knit faculty at a wonderful university you will undoubtedly be successful in the economics department at Acadia.
